The History of Swedish Development Aid

NHC Workshop with Urban Lundberg, senior lecturer at Dalarna University.

Based on his ongoing research project on the Swedish Justitieombudsman, NHC guest fellow Urban Lundberg will discuss the state-citizenship relationship in Sweden. The ombudsmanna-institution, which is still in force, was established in 1809 to protect the individual citizen from state offences. Hence, the archive of the institution gives a unique opportunity to follow the changing state-citizen relationship in Sweden over a long time, and through different constitutional orders.

Urban Lundberg is a senior lecturer at Dalarna University. He is an expert on postwar Swedish history and has worked on topics such as Social Democracy and the welfare state, pension reform, development aid, citizen-state relations, and the history of eugenics in Sweden.

The workshop is open to all interested colleagues, students, and others. Please sign up for the workshop by emailing amm@hum.ku.dk.
